Privacy policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This policy describes the personal information Showlot collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights Quebec privacy law (Law 25) gives you.

Who we are

Showlot (“we”) operates a cloud platform that generates photorealistic renders of outdoor projects — pools, pavers, pergolas, landscaping — from a property address, for contractors and retailers in Quebec.

For the purposes of Law 25, Showlot's founder acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them at info@showlot.ca with any question about this policy.

Information we collect

We only collect the information needed to provide the service:

  • Your account — name, email address, (hashed) password, phone number, preferred language.
  • Your company — name, contact details, logo and branding shown on your client pages.
  • Your projects — the client property address, photos you upload, your configuration choices and the generated renders.
  • Sharing — the recipient's email address when you send a render to a client.
  • Technical data — application logs, IP address and session identifiers required for security.

Why we collect it

  • Provide the service: geocode the address, fetch satellite and street imagery, generate and store renders.
  • Create and secure your account and organization.
  • Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, sending a render to your client).
  • Provide support, prevent abuse and improve the service.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Consent

You consent to the collection described here by creating an account and accepting the terms of use. Some consents are collected at the moment of the action — for example, emailing a render to your client.

When you enter a client's property address or photos, you confirm that you hold the authorization required to use them in Showlot.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@showlot.ca; withdrawal may however limit or prevent use of the service.

Cookies

Showlot uses two categories of cookies. Cookies strictly necessary for the service to work are always active:

  • Session — keeping you securely signed in.
  • Language — remembering your language preference (FR/EN).
  • Active organization — remembering the company selected in the app.

These essential cookies do not require consent under Law 25.

We also use audience-measurement cookies — Google Analytics, the Meta pixel and Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session recordings, with sensitive fields such as address and email masked) — to understand how the service is used and to measure our campaigns. They are active by default. You can refuse them, or change your choice, at any time via “Manage cookies” in the footer; refusing does not affect how the service works.

Third parties and hosting

The service relies on providers that process some information on our behalf:

  • Server and database hosting — OVH; website — Vercel.
  • Image storage (photos, renders) — Cloudflare R2, served through short-lived signed links.
  • Imagery and geocoding — Google Maps Platform (addresses, satellite and street views).
  • AI image generation — Google Gemini and Black Forest Labs (FLUX); only the property imagery and your configuration choices are sent to them.
  • Transactional email — Resend.

Some of these providers process data outside Quebec. We limit what we send to the strict minimum and govern these transfers in accordance with Law 25.

Retention

Your information is kept for as long as your account is active. When the account is closed, or upon request, we delete it within a reasonable delay (at most 30 days), subject to short-lived backups and our legal obligations.

Your rights (Law 25)

Quebec law gives you, among others, the following rights:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Request the deletion or de-indexing of your information.
  • Receive your information in a structured, technological format (portability).

To exercise a right, write to info@showlot.ca. We answer within at most 30 days.

Security

Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), images are stored in a private space reachable only through expiring signed links, data access is partitioned per organization, and sensitive actions are audit-logged.

Privacy incidents

We keep a register of privacy incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) and the persons concerned, as required by law.

Complaints

If you believe your rights were not respected, contact us first at info@showlot.ca. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

Changes

We may update this policy; the update date appears at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will inform you through the service or by email.
